PPA Wants State Leaders

Home >Poker News >2008 >January >PPA Wants State Leaders

Date: January 11, 2008
By: Dan K.

The Poker Players Alliance has well over 800,000 members, but only thirty of them are State Directors.  The PPA wants twenty more.  These State Directors are key in the PPA’s grassroots effort to defend the rights of poker players around the United States.

State Directors are volunteers; they are not paid for their time.  At the same time, however, the PPA does not expect State Directors to shoulder any financial burden, either.  Directors will be tasked with actively recruiting new PPA members within the state, communicate with current members in the state, organize local events to increase awareness or raise money for charity, participate in local political events to bring awareness to the issue of online poker, and participate in national PPA initiatives.

PPA State Directors will be recognized on the PPA website, as well as in poker publications.  They will also be granted special access to events planned for the 2008 World Series of Poker.

Interested members may apply at the PPA’s website (http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org) through January 28.
