New Funding Methods Coming to Cake Poker

Home >Poker News >2008 >April >New Funding Methods Coming to Cake Poker

Date: April 22, 2008
By: Dan K.

Cake Poker announced last week that it had added a new funding method and sources say that several more are likely to be on their way within the next month.

The method that is already up and running is QuickTender, which can be used via the UseMyWallet link on the cashier screen.  QuickTender is an e-wallet, a funding method that should be familiar to almost every online poker player out there.  It’s not cheap for the low stakes player, though.  Credit card deposits into a QuickTender account are charged a five percent fee.  Bank transfers into a QuickTender account are free, but cost $30 on the way back to the bank account.  Physical checks also cost $30.

The next funding option that is most likely to appear on Cake is eWalletXpress, which might go live next week.  After that, MoneyGram and Western Union may show up in a week or two.  Direct Electronic Funds Transfers may also be added within the next two to four weeks (withdrawals sooner than deposits).  Cake is also hoping to dramatically increase the success rate for U.S. credit card deposits in the near future.

All of these options are needed as Cake Poker relied heavily on ePassporte, which recently decided to stop processing internet gambling transactions.
