First Svenska Spel and now Boss Media are changing CEOs following a change in higher management. While Svenska Spel has a new board of Directors (and a new set of goals,) Boss Media has been recently acquired by GTECH, which prompted a change of top management.

Boss Media, home to Paradise Poker,  was acquired by GEMed – a company largely controlled by GTECH – on February of this year, and is currently being integrated into GTECH’s larger New Media and Sports Betting division. GTECH and Boss Media have great expectations of this joint venture, as stated on a press release from Boss Media:

Being integrated with the leading gaming technology and services company GTECH and part of a larger family brings many opportunities for the customers and employees of Boss Media. Our clients will benefit from a larger product portfolio and a stronger international presence; there will also evolve more opportunities for our employees.

Former CEO Michael Hallen announced the change of management during his 1Q company review. His parting words were very positive for the company, both in terms of his experience and of the company’s future: “I leave Boss Media very proud of what we have achieved together. As I see it GTECH brings stability, growth, internationalization and new significant opportunities to Boss Media.” Boss Media’s Chairman of the Board, Jan Stocklassa, congratulated Hallen on his performance while managing Boss: “Michael has been a great leader and made significant achievements for Boss Media. We strongly regret to see him leave.”

New CEO Rahul Parekh has an International Finance MBA and plenty of gaming experience – he has previously led the Lottomatica-GTECH group Corporate Development in Asia, and was leading GTECH’s New Media and Sports Betting division in Asia along with Strategy in China and India before holding his current position. Parekh looks forward to his new role and has many plans for Boss Media:” I am excited to take this new challenge on. Our business plan and objectives to continue integrating Boss Media into GTECH and the new division remain.”
