Poker pro Jennifer Harman is getting ready to host another charity poker tournament: the Nevada SPCA. Last year, her first tournament helped raised $130,000 for the organization, which was used to build two new wings for the no-kill shelter. She also hosted a small buy-in charity tournament on Full Tilt Poker last month.
The next tournament will be on April 18 at the Venetian. The recommended donation to buy-in is $300 + $30, and there will be optional $200 re-donations and a final $200 add-on. The winner will earn a $10,000 seat at the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Both a live and silent auction will also help raise additional funds for the Nevada SPCA.
Regarding Harman’s first tournament, Nevada SPCA Executive Director Doug Duke said, “It's amazing what a difference even the smallest donation can make, let alone $130,000. The new section will allow us to rescue and shelter about 1,000
