Full Tilt Inks Antonius

At the start of the 2008 WSOP, Howard Lederer was asked about adding more players to Full Tilt’s team of pros.  "There are really only three guys out there that belong on Team Full Tilt,” he said. “Daniel (Negreanu), Doyle (Brunson), and Patrik (Antonius).”

Only Daniel and Doyle left to go.  The above question was asked at a press conference at which Patrik Antonius was announced as the newest member of the Full Tilt squad.  Now, one of the site’s most popular high stakes players for people to railbird is no longer a visitor.

Antonius is one of the few players who is universally feared both online and live, both in cash games and tournaments.  To many, he has seemingly been around forever, yet he still hasn’t hit age thirty and has only been playing poker professionally since 2002.  He made his name online, but in 2005 he began to build his reputation as a premier live player, as well.

After a third place and first place finish in a couple European events, Antonius made his mark in America in December 2005 when he finished second at the WPT Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic, earning over a million dollars.  In 2006, he made the final table of the eagerly anticipated WSOP $50,000 HORSE Championship, coming in ninth.  Most recently, he placed seventh in the first event of this year’s WSOP, the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em World Championship.
