Full Tilt Gears Up for Elite Tournament

Home >Poker News >2008 >May >Full Tilt Gears Up for Elite Tournament

Date: May 15, 2008
By: Dan K.

Do you have a spare $25,000 in your poker bankroll?  Feel like putting it up against some of the best players in the world?  If so, Full Tilt Poker has the tournament for you this month.

Billed as the “largest buy-in for a heads-up tournament ever held either live or online,” the $25K Heads-Up World Championship will be held at Full Tilt Poker on May 24 and 25.  Limited to 64 players, this nosebleed-stakes event costs (obviously) $25,000 to enter and will thus potentially have a $1.6 million prize pool (Full Tilt does not appear to be taking a fee from the buy-in).

For those that don’t have the required $25,000 buy-in but want to play, Full Tilt will be holding two heads-up qualifiers, one each on May 22 and 23, for the low, low price of $535.  There are also two sit-and-go qualifiers available, one for $4,000 and one for $2,000.  The winners of each of these will win a seat in the Championship.  The two $535 qualifiers also have sub-satellites.

The buy-ins for the Championship and the two $535 qualifiers are not refundable, so if you pay, you play.

Chris Ferguson and Ali Nejad will provide post-game commentary and analysis.
