Deep Stack Extravaganza 2008 has been announced

After its huge success last year as one of the most popular events alongside the World Series, the Venetian is bringing back their Deep Stack Extravaganza twice in 2008, giving players more chips and more tourney play for their money.

The Deep Stack Extravaganza I and II, which ran last year as an alternative to the WSOP, wowed the poker world by bringing together over 19,000 players and accumulating over $10 million in prize money. Kathy Raymond, director of poker operations for The Venetian, was overwhelmed by the demand for another Deep Stack: “We received tremendous feedback from the players regarding the Deep Stack tournaments,” she said. “With the amount of phone calls and emails we received everyday requesting the return of the tournament, we knew it was only right to bring the tournament back as an annual series."

The now annual series will be played in February and June, with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $1,000 which will translate to between $6,000 and $10,000 in starting chips. Games will include No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha 8 or Better and H.O.R.S.E.
