Bluff Media Fires Chris Vaughn Over Full Tilt Scandal

Home >Poker News >2007 >December >Bluff Media Fires Chris Vaughn Over Full Tilt Scandal

Date: December 11, 2007
By: Gilad

Despite efforts to come clean and professionally address the scandal created by Chris Vaughn and Sorel Mizzi, where the two friends were found guilty of account selling during a big-money online poker tournament, Bluff Media has decided to terminate Chris Vaughn’s position as Managing editor of their renowned magazine.

According to a statement by Bluff Magazine,

In light of Chris’ involvement, recently admitted facts and the feedback obtained from industry professionals, it became apparent that the credibility required to perform the job functions of Managing Editor of Bluff Magazine at our company’s level of standards have become severely diminished.

While we regret having to make this decision, we believe that it is the best alternative for all parties involved, including Chris, Bluff Media and the poker playing community at large. We wish Chris the best of luck.

Despite the lengthy interview Chris Vaughn voluntarily subjected himself to on Poker News where he came clean in front of the entire poker world admitting to wrong-doing and acknowledging the massive personal price he had to pay in terms of disqualified winnings, loss of support in the community, and personal guilt; his position as Managing Editor at one of poker’s most well-known magazines was too reputable to survive such a damaging scandal.

The crime committed by Vaughn was no small incident, although account selling is a rather commonplace problem in the online poker community. His punishment has already been harsh and this most recent loss of his job must have been a severe blow to the young editor, especially considering that the company at first stated that they would not fire him due to the fact that he committed the crime completely on his own time in his personal life.

Unfortunately for Chris, the true boss of the magazine is the poker community at large, and the poker community has spoken.
