Bachus, who managed to persuade the House using scientific evidence of the evils of online gaming. The evidence he quoted, however, does not exist.

 | New Pro-Poker Legislation Introduced in Congress July 18, 2008. Posted by Dan K.. | Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) has taken a new approach to winning the fight for online poker acceptance in Congress: he has introduced a bill that would not only regulate online gambling, but would also earmark the revenue generated through taxes for programs that would assist U.S. citizens in need. By doing this, Rep. McDermott is likely hoping that many legislators who have previously been opposed to regulation will have trouble voting against the bill, as they would be declining aid to those who need it.

 | Yet More Bad Press for Ultimate Bet July 15, 2008. Posted by Marylou. | One would expect that after the recent events, Ultimate Bet would be extra careful to walk the line while it tries to regain its former status in the poker world. Alas, it was not the case: Poker News have just issued a statement accusing Ultimate Bet of snatching a sponsored pro from them, and announcing they will no longer promote UB.
