Which hand Wins??????

The first four community cards have been dealt, all the cards are diamonds, and one of them is the ace of diamonds. Two players call all in, one player has a king and 7 of diamonds, the other has 2 of diamonds and a 9 of clubs. As i understand it the best five cards are used in any winning combination, so does that mean that it is a split pot becuase the high card ace of diamond is in the community cards?

The best five card hand wins and you have to run down flushes so an Ace King high flush is the best flush possible (other than straight flushes). The guy with just the 2 of diamonds loses.

In hold em, you can use as many cards from your hand as you want to make the best hand. For instance, if the board reads:
58796 rainbow, and you hold QJ, you still have a straight.
As a corollary, if you hold the ace of diamonds, and the board has four diamonds, you have the nuts (unless the board is paired, then someone may have a full house or quads).
Anyway to answer the OP, iHateJacks is right, the player holding K7dd has an A-K high flush while the other player has an A-whatever high flush, and he will lose the pot.
