I realise that my turn raise was a bit on the small side. I suppose raising to ~$10 would have been the better play?

So the question you have to ask yourself is whether drawing to the straight in the case is worth it at all. You made your hand but now you're afraid of a full house.
I think this is a clear fold, this is nines full too often. Even if he's only got three sevens he has 6 outs. What hand, that you beat, can play like this? Unless your opponent is a real jackass (I mean real jackass) is he going to play three sevens like that with all that action. Besides, what hand could he have preflop that includes a 7? 67, 78, A7. It's very likely he would just dump 67 or 78 if they weren't suited.
Besides, there's no guarantee that the BB or UTG+1 isn't the one trapping.
With a bet from the big blind (indicating, very possibly, a seven), and two calls in front of me, I am dumping my straight draw on the flop. Even if I make it there are lots of chances to get drawn out on -and- I can't be sure I'm ahead to begin with. Also, a thinking opponent would probably realize that 68 is well within your range, and your bet pattern is consistent with 68. It is not very well disguised.
If this were headsup I'd expect to see trip sevens often enough to warrant a call, but in a family pot I let this go before the draw.

This was a tough hand for me at the time so I thought it would make for interesting discussion. Judging by the lack of responses I guess not.
It's weird how we all play the flop differently. I like calling, Sfustsh likes folding and Ugi likes raising.

Nice fold! For some reason I didn't see this post, but it is an interesting spot everyone finds themselves in from time to time..

If you look at how much each player was behind and how much more to Hero, this was a shitty fold.

I'd raise it preflop, and flop raise is also quite good as a semi bluff. With the BB still to act behind, calling is not clear cut just because the others are shorterstacked.

Perhaps, but if you could see the cards, ala Sklansky, you wouldn't fold, thus a mistake.
