I don't like the all-in. An ace is almost certainly going to call. So I probably bet about 1500, which would leave you 2400 and enough to get out if called or raised. And no, I don't push this pre-flop, I think you played it fine there.

P.S. Thats a pretty bad call pre-flop with A2 in my opinion.

I don't know. The only real reason to push it before the flop is to get heads up with the original raise, but I suspect that if people are willing to call 1k cold, they're not entirely unlikely to fold to 5k.

I doubt you're ahead with that flop, but I wouldn't say I hate the push either. The truth is you need to double up at least twice, probably three or more times to win anything at all, so a certain amount of maniacal play is called for.
