Back when I first started, I used a book written by Hellmuth as my guide for making decisions.

LOL The good ol' days.

I believe I have a copy of that book in my poker library...I actually read most of it.

Same here......actually, the book is pretty good advice for the beginner. I would probably recommend it to someone just starting out wanting to play cash games.

Yeah, the book usually gets bad raps from experienced poker players. Playing AA-22, AK, AQ, KQ, AJs-A2s, and QJsc-54sc is not THAT bad for beginners in NL full ring.

Here in my country texas holdem isnt that popular as it is in the usa.
People are playing some strange sort of 5 draw but with 3 cards and with no discarding .. And you can choose a card that players call joker and you can use it for every card you want.
For example 9 of spades is a joker and you have Ace Ace 9 of spades so you have three aces

I started it at twenty one and i think it a right age to start. I started with lots of books and relevant material. I worked on lots of strategy tips then i actually stared it in poker room.
