Pre-flop:
rpl22 folds. phrog49 folds. Flexi Digit folds.
only4uris calls. chizzler calls. RoxanneM99 calls.
DS101 checks.
Flop (board: 5h 3c 8h):
So - I immediately flop a low hand. A decent one I think because if someone has and ace or 2 then it's now counterfeit and my 3,5 looks good going with the 8.
RoxanneM99 checks. DS101 bets $2. only4uris calls.
chizzler folds. RoxanneM99 folds.
Turn (board: 5h 3c 8h 6d):
The turn brings a 6 and improves my hand, yes?
So i want to bet something that shows I have a decent hand at least and maybe try to find out if there is a 4 out there to ruin me
The guy calls... perhaps he has a flush or straight draw?
DS101 bets $4. only4uris calls.
River (board: 5h 3c 8h 6d 7s):
River brings an 8. I think I'm good for at least the low so I bet about 2/3 the pot and he folds.
DS101 bets $8. only4uris folds, showing 5d Kc 5s 2s.
DS101 is returned $8 (uncalled).
You flopped the nut low, the problem is that you have no high hand or draw to go with it. So anyone else holding A2 is going to get you quartered. But, as long as no one is taking the lead away from you, allowing the others to pay for the high hand draw is a good idea.

The 6 doesn't improve your hand, b/c you have the nut low, you don't need any improvements on that side. Catching a 4 would improve your hand to a wheel, which would be okay as long as someone else doesn't already have a higher straight, making your wheel a useless high hand anyways.

folds. whatif folds. rpl22 folds. rat3345 folds.
markare folds. dorky calls. buc10pt calls. DS101
checks.
Flop (board: 3h Qc 5d):
So I've hit trips...i think this is worth a bet because of the rainbow flop. Although I'm not in any kind of shape for the low, I must have a good chance for the high, right? Is it a good bet if you don't have a chance at a low?
buc10pt checks. DS101 bets $1. Aces_2_Win calls.
dorky folds. buc10pt folds.
make a small bet - having made a decision to bet, is it the right size?
Turn (board: 3h Qc 5d Ad):
still hoping my trip 5's are good here for the high. Looking back at this, I'm not sure it was a good play, because the A2345 is now a possibility which would rob my high hand.
DS101 bets $3. Aces_2_Win calls.
River (board: 3h Qc 5d Ad 3s):
Now I have a house. So I'm a sure thing for the high. I decide to bet hard.
DS101 bets $9. Aces_2_Win folds. DS101 is returned
$9 (uncalled).
Hand #9633351-10119 Summary:
$.45 is raked from a pot of $9.
DS101 wins $8.55.
This hand is a bit tricky. A small bet on the flop is good, b/c you leave yourself an outlet if necessary. Fortunately, you only had one opponent. I would slow down on the turn b/c that's a bad card for you. Now that a straight is possible with a low, you might be way behind. I wouldn't push so hard, b/c if you're beat, you don't want more money in the pot. A cheaper showdown is a good idea.
On the other hand, it is heads up and he's been passive, so if you think you're ahead and he's still drawing, then by all means fire away.
If you were up against several opponents, you should always be careful with these hands. You could be up against a set of queens or aces on the turn (not to mention a straight).

Thanks Merv...
Although I think I made a dopey play when I could well have been stuffed I'm glad I noticed the same kind of things you did. It helps to know that perhaps I'm on the right track.
Hey... I wonder if MJ is about would he maybe think about organising an Omaha tourney? Might get a few more people interested in this game
I'll post some more tonight if I'm playing and maybe you'd be kind enough to take a look at those! Rock!
