Im new to the forum just reading some material the past 25 minutes. I can say one thing i have gotten better at in the last 7 months playing is patience. Early on when i first started i would look to get all my chips in withh a good hand. This was limiting me to just stealing blinds or opposing one person, when more chips could be available to me. The thing i hope this forum and others will make me better is heads up strategy. No problem hitting final tables but often hard time closing a victory. Look for me to ask a lot of questions about heads up play in the future. Look forward to being part of your poker community.

The area of my game I have most improved on by far is being able to better understand the play of other poker players. I have learned to take better notes which will help me later on early in rounds if by chance I am matched up against the same poker player. Also I have done much better at mixing up play allowing me to steal more blinds and also catch players when they are calling with a mediocre hand. Another aspect of my game that has greatly improved is my ability to attack players who are on tilt and take advantage of their agressive play. Something I really need to work on is going on tilt. I lose more money then I realy know by going on tilt when infact sometimes I will throw away twice as much as I lost on a bad beat by going on tilt! Does anyone have any ideas, please help!

Hello I just joined this forum but have been a member of another forum for a while and have learned a lot in the year. I have been playing online everyday you learn something new. I think Ihave learned to be a little more aggressive with my play and not to slow play as much seen it get people introuble more often than not. When I first started playing i was not aggressive at all and would slow play everything and wonder why i kept losing with pocket aces. There are still numerous things that I need to improve on to make my poker game better and each day I will keep getting better as i work on my game. There isnt any one area that needs work. its all the areas that just need a tweek to bring my game from good to great. I think everyone has room to improove in their game. GL Everyone and cya around.

Well, first let me say I am glad i happened upon your site!! I have been reading the posts from other members and there is a wealth of knowledge and experience here! So if i make this tournament or not I will be returning to read more and post my experiences and opinions.
What has improved most ?? Well i enjoy playing Omaha and I have read the posts here. Not many sites have as much Omaha interest. I have learned patience to wait for good starting cards. I have also learned reading from the forum WHAT a good starting hand is!! I also liked the MTT section because one area i need to improve is how to play when reaching the 3/4 way or final table when the Blinds have increased so much. I tend to fall off at this point and don,t shift gears. So i may consistantly do well but I choke and fight for a bubble spot. The information of position and stealing blinds will help my game. !!
I shall be back and if i don,t make this tournament maybe i will make the next ones.
Again,, excellent informative site ,, lots to read !! Rob

the poker areas i have improved on would have to be utilizing position. Knowing when to raise and when to fold due to the cards I hold in certain positions. If I am in late position with no raise ahead of me I am gonna raise my cards becuase I will have the position on all the other players. I can represent hands and get all the limpers to fold..I will know who has what and be able to capitalize on these weaknesses. I hope to improve more on my bluff. I need to know when it is profitable for me to bluff based on implied odds and pot odds. The odds on which I will make the best hand if I get called and how many outs I have.

By using this forum I have learned to play freerolls with much more patience and strategy than I used to play them with. I used to play freerolls by just going all in every hand and playing out the ones that I doubled up a couple times in. However, as I quickly learned from this forum, I now know how to play freerolls correctly which is to play aggressively though not over aggressively at first, so that I either get a lot of chips early or do not waste my time, because all I have to lose in playing freerolls is time.
An area for improvement for me is varying up my play. I do not learn to do this much because I am mostly a freeroll player, and play the same style all the time because I swtich tables so often that it doesn’t matter that I play the same style all the time because im always playing with different people. However, when I try to play in real money ring tables, I find that people easily read my plays which is something I have to work on.

What is the area that you have most improved on in your game from this site or the forum? Also, what areas do you need to work on to improve your game more?
As you can tell, I just found and joined this forum, and I will not be able to answer this question in its current form. However, I belong to two other leagues, which I will not plug here as it would be rude to this forum, so I spend much time in forums. I will relate the answer from what I have learned there.
What has most improved my poker game? Simple: experience. Not only from playing, but reading others' posts on how they played a hand, or how they shouldn't have played that hand. This has saved me much pain and strife in teh poker world.
The obvious form of experience would be playing. Sittin down at a table and working the grind. Seeing hundreds of hands passed through me, playing with members who know what they are doing. Just watching how they play, betting, checking, calling, it all adds to my knowledge bank.
What areas do I need to work on? I think my problem is very much the same as many online players. Patience. I find that sitting here, with no human interaction, just being able to communicate through that little text box on the side, can some times make the game a mild bit boring. However, one of the aforementioned leagues that I belong to just restarted a new season, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is the way to play poker. We were all contributing to sing, making fun of the admins and past winners, it was great. And ya know, I finished well into teh money, simply because I relaxed and was able to play my game. That helps, and I desire to be able to play like that permanently.
Well, I hope I imparted a bit of my poker experience to those of you that will take the time to read this, I sure learned a bunch reading from those of you that posted significant amounts. Obviously, it was that titan freeroll that brought me here, but it seems to be a friendly atmosphere, and I intend to stay.
Thank you
Borgouise

I couldn't point to any one thing I've learned from this site that's helped me more than any other, but what I like about this forum is that the members seem to be more 'like me' than at some other sites. Hard to quantify that, but the topics seem to be more about topics I'm interested in.
My goals for the year is to become consistently profitable, and to learn better reading skills. The two go hand in hand, especially since I play only NL right now. I would say my biggest problem is getting bored and not paying attention to what my opponents are doing. You never know when you're going to spot that tendency, so you've got to keep alert. That's my goal.

What is the area that you have most improved on in your game from this site or the forum? Also, what areas do you need to work on to improve your game more?
A) The area that I have most improved in my game from this site is my overall poker skills. The first part this site has helped me with is the way I bet, from reading other articles on this site, I have learned how to bet better in a way that I would not scare some body out of the hand. The other thing it helped me with is my read on people, before I came across this website, I could never have a read on the other person. But this site has helped me and showed me how I can get a read on the other person, and I believe that by that happening, it has improved my poker skills in a very big way.
B) I have many areas that can be improved when we talk about my poker game skills. Quite frankly I think the biggest part of my game that would need some improvment is if I am ever in the situation when I need to "bluff". I think from hearing other peoples expieriences it shows me the "to do's" and "not to do's" when I am going to bluff. Another part of my game that could use some improvment is the decision to either play the hand or fold the hand. I sometimes play rag hands that have a low chance of winning. Untill I came across this site, I used to think that a K 2 unsuited was a good hand to call when someone raises. Now I know that it really isn't such a great hand.
