I have learned a few very important things in joining this site, I have learned the importance of your table position, before I was a member here I would call in any position with a decent starting hand. Now I know that it is not smart to call with a weak starting hand if a lot of players are already in the pot. I have also learned about not calling an all in if there is already a few other people in. The part I need to work on most is when I have a big chip lead and it is down to less people I need to start playing more tight, I have a tendency to try to steal pots and end up getting pot commited.

answers to the questions
by hard2resist420 » Tue Jan 10, 2006 4:11 pm
I really cant give an answer to the first question seeing that i am a new mwmber to your site. I can tell you that in other forums i have been in it has helped me a great deal to be able to ask questions about certain hands and to be able to give a situation and have someone tel me what they would do if it had happened to them.
The second question is easy for me what i need to most improve on is not being afraid to call an all in if i feel i have a better hand . I am really bad at this i have folded alot of winning hands this way because my feeling is no matter how good my hand is i always tend to get beat by a really crappy hand.

The part of the forum that has mostly improved is that the passwords are not publicly postes so all the freeroll whores can join them.... So that way it keeps the freeroll for the loyal members! even tho, i dont consider myself loyal since i read more than i post....

What is the area that you have most improved on in your game from this site or the forum? Also, what areas do you need to work on to improve your game more?
Well I just recently joined this forum but I think I can still answer the question. I think my patience in the game has improved greatly in the past 6 months or so. I have been playing online for about a year and a half and I find myself getting to final tables much more offten. I have disciplined myself to be able to lay down a great hand if I know I am beat (poket K's especially).
As for improvement I would like to try and be a little more agressive durring the end of the game. I tend to hold back to get farther.

To all those who've said they've tightened up and don't chase playing premium hands, you guys are WRONG! Chasing and dumping money with shit hands is what poker is all about. I guess you guys didn't get the memo.

As you can see I have just signed on to your forum and I find that your question for obtaining the freeroll password is quite unique, something different and I like it. I just hope you will not use our weakness to your advantage lol ... just joking.
The area that I have improved in since I have started playing online poker is to have patience, to not let others anger me or frustrate me into making silly moves. I do really good on heads up situations but I guess what I and probably everyone needs to work on is the technical part of the game making sure you play per the guide books rules, position betting etc.
Thanks,
GG

OK, i'm not going to sit here and lie, i am new to this forum, and haven't had the chance to learn much from it yet. however i have been a member to several other forums for quite a while now and can say that since i began playing online poker and participating in forums, my poker play has improved tremendously. the biggest thing that i have learned from online play and forum chat is the ability to take advantage of position. position is everything in poker, and i finally realized that. i used to raise all the time under the gun. it took me a while but i finally realized that by doing this, i had no idea what any of my opponents cards could be, and i would end up getting screwed over by a re-raise or several all ins more times than i could count.
i must say though, the area i need to improve my game most on is bluffing. I LOVE bluffing. just the feeling of pushing someone out of a hand while i hold a busted flush draw is enough to keep me running back to the tables. however i still need to work on timing my bluffs, and restricting them to times when i really need them. while i get away with 90% of my bluffs on any given day, its that one big busted bluff that seems to always get me. then after losing half my chips its all downhill from there. soo many times have i placed right before the money simply because i felt it necessary to bluff away all my chips at the wrong time.
hope you find it in ur heart to invite me to this freeroll, i like this site n will definately be coming here often.

hi there i am new to this game
a) thing that i have mostly learnt whilst starting out on poker is that ou have to be patient and not to play every card hoping that you might get a pair on the flop so i have started to sit back and throw away the cards that are poor
b) i would love to learn how to work out your percentage of winning with the cards in your hand. also i would like to learn how to play good pocket cards when to raise with out scary poeple from betting and when to just call and try and get some action
another thing ive noticed in your site is like you say poeple are abusing it i am a member of another simialr site to this wont mention names but they have a system were if you post something then you get site dollars and when there is a freeroll you have to pay for the password from with the site dollars the only bad thing is that you end up with loads of crap post but it does work just an idea

Well to be honest, I wasn't going to join this forum when I saw that I would have to write a response to a question in order to get into the freerolls, but then I was reading "General Knowledge from the STT community", and a post by JaceDK really caught my attention. I took his or her advice on a single table tourney on Titan Poker while I was chip leader about who to bully in order to get more chips. Well, the advice worked perfectly. At one point it ended up kicking me in the butt, when a mid-range player was playing their rockets very weakly. I ended up overcoming this, however, and won the tourney!
I definitely need to work on my patience, however. When in tourneys, I look (and hope) for other players to get eliminated, rather than ensuring my own survival in the tournament. I don't look to the greatest goal of my playing in the tournament, which should be to outlast all the other players, I just want to see them gone as soon as possible, and therefore I make stupid decisions by bluffing them all in. Also, I need to learn to fold mediocre hands. Often times, I will call with low suited cards, hoping that the flop will treat me well, and completely miss. Those stupid calls add up, and then I end up seeing myself not placing in the tournament.
Well, this post is probably too late to get into the tourney anyway, but I just wanted to say thanks, because this forum has had the best actual advice that I've seen, and not just random crap about bad beats. It helped me once, and I'm sure it can help me again (and maybe I can eventually help someone else out). Thanks.

Well I have only been in this forum a short while but while doing this I am playing a ring game at Titan Poker .10/.20 blinds and I am improving on getting reads on people and playing with mid pair and making good bets. The thing I have realized i need to work on most is not giving away my chips on bluffs. I bluff too much and I need to stop doing that. Hopefully I can use both of those tacticts tonite at the tables and thanks for the forum
