What is the area that you have most improved on in your game from this site or the forum?
First off like many others in this thread--i am new to your site. So I would have to say that how this forum has helped me the most -is actually this thread. Going thru the posts and reading what others have stated made me reflect on my play/stlye/and ability. What an excellent thread to have going and one i return to often to reread and rethink.
Also, what areas do you need to work on to improve your game more?
My short game is the area that im continually trying to work on. I can do very well up to the point of making the cut for the cash. It seems like at that point is where my good starting hands/position play etc all get caught up and beaten up by the river. I'll push heavy on a heads up play early to state my hand and then get slammed at the end by junk. Now If its a short stack that did it I can understand --the desperation aspect and all-or the chip leader just pushing his stack around. But normally its a stack similar in size to myself . And in the space of a few hands I find myself going from a good stack of chips to bubble boy.
At the same aspect some would say just play tighter--but I already am at this point and playing the quality hands. Im sure this will be an ongoing problem because you cant beat a chaser that catchs -sure I chase also at times. Just my memory tells me it happens more to me at the end of the game

Ninety percent of the posts in this thread are pure horse shit. They're incoherent and babble. Reading these posts makes me want to eat glass and drink wet concrete. How the hell could this possibly have helped you. (no question mark at the end of the sentence to emphasize my point, thank you very much Grammar Nazi!)

Hy. Well i just registered to site, but i think the most important thing in poker is to play. So u can get some experience. I played now i think on 15 freeroll tournament, and i think i developed a lot since my first. In online poker u can only guess ur opponents card, how she/he raises, calls, etc. I think its very important too, i think i developed in this to. So far i havent won a freeroll, i have only a 3. place and 2 fifth. But i think Poker is a great game, i enjoy it very much. And im lookin forward my first win:).
GL all, see ya at the tables.

What I said is that this thread has made me sit back and think about my style of play. My levels of aggresiveness on nonaggressive moves. This thread made me think about my past victorys and losses and how they came about. This thread , made me take a moment to reflect on my abilitys and shortcomings.
So that is how this thread and forum has helped me in assessing my poker skills or lack of. This forum made me sit back and reflect and I don't see how that is anything but a positive aspect of the forum. If im wrong then I'll step out now.
Grammer is never a strong point of my lifestyle nor will it ever be

What areas have I learned/improved most? - I've learned not to play as many hands as I might want to, to vary how tight my game is according to the players I play with and based on how I am doing in the tournament as time and blinds pass me by.
What areas do I still need to learn? - a lot!!! I think at the fore of all of it however, is to control my emotions better when playing poker, that is, to detach myself from any other goings-on and just focus on my game.

If you lack the care to check and review your written work, how can you expect others who read it to exert any care whatsoever in responding to it? Your rationale about grammar being a strong point of your "lifestyle" is completely infantile and utter nonsense.
Being ignorant is understandable and thus forgiveable.
Choosing to remain defiantly ignorant is contemptible.
I see no reason to reward you for that.

The one area i think i've most improved on in poker, is patience.
I used to play a lot of ring games and used to play a more careless and loose game, but after months of playing and learning more and more about the game, ive become a more patient player, which has really helped me win more in ring games.
Choosing the right cards to play is important, but it is also important when to play those hands, timing becomes almost everything in the game.
What i do need to improve on, is learning to chase the right hands.
Very often, i chase a draw and end up not hitting it and thought i was unlucky for the day, but after evaluating the situations, i see what i did wrong and what i need to do next time the same situation pops up.
All in all, i think im a solid player, but i still have plenty of room for improvement in order to becoming a great player.
Timing is everything and hopefully i will win more money with time.

Hello
I just joined the forum , however i have been playing online poker for a little over a year and over the past couple of months i have improved my game dramaticly. I have a couple of reasons i belive that have helped me improve.. The first is I have started to play less hands, choosing to play only strong hands. This without a doubt has improved my game , i was losing alot of chips just trying to see a flop. The second thing that has helped me is using my posistion to my advantage, i was unaware until recently how much of an advantage using the power of postion can give.
The part of my game i am trying to improve on is being able to lay down a strong hand when the time calls for it , also i need to stop chasing as much .
