Purchasing PokerTracker
by bluff » Sun Feb 05, 2006 9:36 pm
Hey guys, I recently started doing STT's at Party, and noticed that a profit is definitly possible on them, so I want to get more serious about it, and hopefully improve even more.
I guess I should be asking this at the PokerTracker site, but I figure they are prolly sick of this question...
Anyways, I want to purchase PokerTracker, but I dont have access to a creditcard right now...is it possible to pay for it someway by transferring money from my Party account? Or is this just a totally absurd question?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I talked to sales @ PokerTracker, and apparently they dont accept transfer through Party.
Maybe someone could help me out, with me trasnferring money through Party to them, and then if they have a Stars account, to transfer money for the purchase of PokerTracker for me?
Any help would be much appreicated.
Thanks

If you have the money in Party, why not just withdraw it yourself?

Set up a neteller account, and transfer the money there from your party account.
It is possible to pay for PT via Neteller, and a Neteller account is almost essential if you are serious about online poker.
See the pokertracker website for details on paying through neteller og mail sales again.

Alright cool, I'll do it throught neteller.
Just a few questions about the software though, I've heard great things in the past, everyone here loves it apparently.
But HOW will it help me improve? For example, I mostly play $10 (and want to move up) SNG's and $25nl (and again, want to go up). How will Pokertracker improve my profit at these?
I already keep track of my sessions, payin, payout, what place I get in the SNG's etc. So is that essentially what PT provides?
I really am interested in this program, but I want to make sure I see some considerable profit increase if I'm going to lay down $55 on this.
Thanks for any help.

PT + PA HUD = crazy delicious!
I think PT is most useful for limit games; however, that doesn't decrease its usefulness as a gateway to tools like PA Hud that let you see all kinds of statistics about players on the screen. With it, you can multi-table and still have a decent 'read' on individual players without actually watching them play.

PokerTracker + PokerAceHUD is awesome. It will overlay statistics on your table so you can immediately click a players name and see how often they fold their blinds, how often they bet the flop, turn, river, how often they fold the flop, turn, and river, how often they bet pre-flop, check-raise, and a plethora of other info that you can customize.
As for how PokerTracker alone will help you, it will allow you to review your hand history and see what hands you are ultimately losing money with. It gives you a way to replay hands to see if you missed something or if an opponent acted in some way that should have tipped you off.
The money I spent on PT and PA-HUD paid for itself the first week I used it full time. I was able to recognize betting patterns in players much easier and dropping the hammer on folks knowing that they fold 90% at river. One pot in particular saved me much more than the $25 that PA-HUD costs. I was in the BB with A-K, MP raised to 4XBB, LP re-raised to 10XBB. I check my handy dandy PT/PA-HUD stats to see that MP guy has a VP$IP(Voluntarily puts money in pot) of 18% with a 0% Pre-Flop Raise(PFR), than I notice that LP guy has a VP$IP of 14% with a 2% PFR. I decided that discretion was the better part of valor and folded away my A-K. Flop was A-K-rag. MP guy bets out 10XBB, LP guy pushes all in, MP guy calls. Showdown is AA vs KK.
