The hand he just folded:
He had much better than 44, believe me. 44 Is an insta-muck. He just folded tens against you, seriously.
EDIT: fish just folded to the shortstack, he's preserving this situation. Beware, he may be drunk but he's not dumb.

Bustout hand from the BB. I'm 2nd in chips with about 45K, 5 players left. LAGgy (sfustsh would say drunk, I'm not sure) CL has I think 95K, good aggression, but a little too loose in some situations. The rest of the table has been tighter than a nun, as they say. Two other factors, quite honestly, are that it's now after 2:00 pm with a day full of prospective interns to interview the next day. I really only care about 1st place at this point.
I can't remember blinds at this point, maybe 1500-3000/200?? In other words, everyone is in the red zone except for CL.
CL from the BTN raises 9000 (which I'd expect him to do 40-50% of the time)
I re-raise all in from BB with
LOL @ him making the absolute nuts by the turn with A9o (AAx9x)
I guess sfustsh thinks I should have passed and not tangled with the CL, rather just continued to steal from the tighties. I'm starting to think maybe I wasn't 2nd in chips, because of the A3o vs. 66 hand.
I'd be interested to see what others think, esp. those who were watching and could see the table dynamics firsthand. In MTT's, I've made every place possible at the FT except for 1st, so I'm sure I'm making some mistakes.

Congrats on the finish. I didn't see the table so I don't have much to add, but if there was short stacks and 2 big stacks, you probably could have stayed out of each others way...
As far as making mistakes at the final table and getting every place but first... I bet i was at 20 or so final tables without a win and then finally I won one... After that I won several more and I just seemd to get over the hump.... You will too... Keep at it bro.

Probably just call and see a flop, especially if you think he won't fold. I like my hand but not with all the ss's at the table.
But, the other line of thinking is to play for first, no fault in that. After all if you win this hand you are CL and get to pwn the entire table.

I don't understand why he would muck TT, then call with 66 in a similar situation. It seems that 44 was close to his calling range. Not sure I understand your reasoning here, unless your pattern mapper is better than mine.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Randy. I think my lack of 1sts had a lot to do with my play early on, which was pretty weak-tight. Now, I think some of the problem has to do with not playing as well after 2 am, and some has to do with less experience with being CL for obvious reasons.
