Pot Odds Question
by stewart » Wed Apr 19, 2006 2:40 pm
If I have a straight draw into a two suited board the outs I have are cut from 8 to 6. This in itself lowers my chances but I also need to dodge a third suited card in order for my straight to be safe. Does this dilute my odds still further? Do I divide my remaining odds by the chance of catching a suited card?

You're accounting for the flush situation twice; your outs are cut from 8 to 6 because two of the 8 outs will complete a possible flush, which might counterfeiting your hand.
