Jesus, I just spent an hour playing seven stud in Bizarro World. I won one large pot that made the majority of my profits, AA five handed and jammed early on before I got two people out on 6th street still unimproved. Turns out they held up without improvement when the raiser showed 88 and the other guys had total trash, I think it was a whipsaw and a partial straight draw.

That is, I was surprised until I saw somone drag a smaller multiway pot with 99. No pair at all? How the hell do you play against multiple people being dealt seven cards a piece with nothing at all? What, you think none of them have a pair? Your jack high going to smoke three other hands?

I swear, most of the showdowns had one solid hand, and a couple others that looked like people were playing 52 Pick Up instead of poker.

Same thing happens all the time on Party and Stars, especially in the oft ignored other poker variations. (7-stud and especially Omaha)
