think anyone that believes this guy shouldn't be put to death and put back in power is crazy.

I was half joking, but I do think we (the US) was better off with him in power... The people of Iraq may not have been, but the US has plenty of their own problems.. And we created another one when we invaded that country...

Thats a pretty selfish statement. Kill the fucker but don't hang him, maybe Chinese water torture would be better, maybe they could stone the fucker to death.

I'm pro-death penalty (with major revisions because it's currently broken in the US in bad ways) but I would envision to someone like Saddam, a life behind bars is far greater punishment than a rope.

Keeping him confined to a small room for the rest of his life when he's used to living in exquisite luxury and comfort is going to make him go crazy on it's own.

I don't think the penalty is handed down from the US, because many muslim countries still have pretty harsh penalities for disobeying the law (think stoning for cheating). Killing Saddam I think it kinda shows the level of short-sightedness that still prevails over there and the bigger picture of why it's been near impossible to get everyone to think beyond what is in front of them.

Very good point. I agree with the reasons for keeping him alive, but if they want to kill him you really can't blame them.
