Your hand is meh.
You have a great low but your only chance for high is a straight or possibly a flush.
This is a 'pretty good' omaha hand but not a 'great' omaha hand.
As far as omaha goes, most of the time preflop you're not a huge underdog / favorite unless you got AAKK double suited.
I am not that experienced with omaha, but I can tell you:
Double suited = good
Pair = good
2 or more connectors = good
Omaha's a game of big hands!

Yes I am kidding you. Its a reference to an Omaha piece this guy wrote a while back, using the Rounders preface and basically just making fun of omaha the whole time. The scenario goes where he is talking to Knish about beating Chan heads up and goes whatd you have? AAKK AAJT and all the top hands, and he goes "nope rags" and Knish says thats probably ok too because you are only like 48% underdog. Something like that I can't find the original post but its fucking funny.

This is an okay starting hand, but it's potential is almost strictly for the low. I'm not fond of your position, however. I hate to be in EP with this hand, but it's easier to play in limit, rather than PL.
You're going to be looking for a flop with an ace and a three. Hopefully, you'll also pick up a wrap straight draw that might allow you quarter someone sharing your low, but you'll break them off with a slightly bigger straight than the wheel.
In this case with your hand, you should definitely be raising the flop since you pretty much flopped the dream.

I don't understand if your post is praising hero's hand or bashing it?
This hand isn't great. The only chance he has of scopping is the wheel?
Otherise his starting hand is REALLY close to the low nuts. There is an 'okay' chance he will win high but I can think of a million other hands that have a better high.
As far as position goes, in limit it's not as big a deal. Frankly you're looking for splitting for low here. Raise preflop, it's not too loose or too tight, I don't get mad if you do either here, but slow down if the flop doesn't give you your low. In cash games just keep it cheap so you don't pay the rake (lol). Otherwise you are drawing to low 42, which isn't a great spot to be in. In Omaha, your low has to be 8 or better, so you don't have that many cards that can give you low. If you miss the flop you'll be runner runner to split if the flop is one <8. Not a great position.
This being limit, you'll get odds to draw on every street, so I play this hand every time both for splitting low and scooping with the wheel.
This is NOT the nuts omaha hole, mervhage.

Huh?
There is an 'okay' chance he will win high but I can think of a million other hands that have a better high. Going so so in both directions just gets you in trouble.
As far as position goes, in limit it's not as big a deal.May not be as crucial as in NL, but doesn't mean its not important. Frankly you're looking for splitting for low here. Then why are we playing it if we have a crappy high and a weak low. Raise preflopOK, so if we're going to play 1/4 of the pot as stated in the previous sentence, why are we raising in EP?, it's not too loose or too tight, I don't get mad if you do either here, but slow down if the flop doesn't give you your low. I play more PLO8 than I do LO8, but I'm not sure if this hand has much value. As has been stated, the only flop that you want to see is an A3x and even when that does happen you're not going to get much action.

SFU this is the part I was talking about, Scotty posted the link to it.
Michel: “Right, okay, but seriously, I played for an
hour, doing nothing but folding. Then I won a huge
pot.”
Joey Croissant: “Aces? Kings? Ace-King doublesuited?
Suited aces? High connectors? Middle doublesuited
connectors? Two big pair?”
Michel: “Rags.”
Joey Croissant: “That’s probably fine too, you’re only
like a 48/52 dog.”
Michel: “I raised. And he came over the top of me,
like I was a boorish American. I re-popped it. He
potted it again. I think for like two seconds and then
I re-pot it.”
