Good push. I reraise preflop one opponent with nines, usually in position to make postflop easier. I play it the same way you do in this spot.

Thank you. Got the money on the table with the best hand at the time. I was pretty confident about the play but had a nagging unsureness. At least no one told me I made them throw up in their mouths a little with this one.

This one probably wasn't so well advised. Both opponents were very loose (35Vp and 47VP) and losing chips quickly. PFR was too small but I had folded 52 of the last 55 hands too. I put the last guy on a flush draw. Since I'm playing NL I didn't even make any progress towards releasing the bonus tonight. Bah.

Second one isn't so advisable. They call with queens here, sure. I shut down on the turn, maybe; maybe I'm too weak tight here.
For such loose players, I generally think your image is lost on them.

Second hand, turn bet is spew, you bet the flop for info, got called should shut down. Definitely not weak tight to check/fold turn, and their range could easily mean you are behind trip fives here as well. Could check/call on flop, as if one does call your c-bet, you have no idea if he floated you with a worse hand, or the flush draw, or with a Queen and checking to him on 4th may entice him to bet you off the winner. Try your best to get to showdown cheaply, if you can't, then you are probably beaten. Bet flop, check/fold turn is pretty standard here with your hand.

Very good insight, thank you.
Looking back with a clearer head this morning, it's definitely not a play I would have made except for losing just about every hand for 3 days and then not getting any cards last night. I let myself tilt a little.

Think he would have laid down to a pot sized bet on the turn? I don't think he would have. Might not be the best post flop play, but I'm not chasing tonight.

Check the flop, bet the turn. You can bet a river brick if you think he is weak or on a draw that doesn't get there. As played, fair enough, you took a stab and shutdown, I'd have done the same. I don't think he would have folded to a turn Jack, Ace or King maybe.

Point taken. If i checked the flop he probably wouldn't have bet. I noticed after this hand he was continually trying to be uber-tricky. After I showed weakness by checking I don't think he would have bet because, omg he had da nutz middle pair with a 5 kicker, best to sucker me in! I wanted to test these guys.
No, that's not me. Just a silly picture I came across in my wanderings the other night. I'm rather happy lately after having a legal struggle end and finding out we can play poker for almost another year so it fits my mood. I'm sure we'll be posting some pictures after a few of us meet up in Niagara next weekend though.
