What's the range you put the villain on here?
by ugignadl » Thu Aug 10, 2006 5:42 am
I am really interested in seeing what people think of villain's play here, and what he holds. Also, as always, any comments on my own play are appreciated.
I had only just sat down, no reads at all.

It appears to me as an ace with a weak kicker, however if the player him/herself is extremely weak, then don't be surprised if they turn over A5. Or perhaps even a weaker two pair. Oh, also, if the player is super super weak, then probably AK. I've seen that a few times and it pisses me off.
One question, why no preflop raise? IMO, you're beating any ace (since you'd anticipate AK or AQ raising) and smaller pairs are just calling. Just curious.

No more replies?
I thought similar. In fact, I was folding to decent aggression on the river.
No PFR: Because I hadn't established a table image yet. This was only my third hand at the table, and the first two I folded.

A big component of what I would put him on here is also time, if hes calling those best like if he doesn't click in the next second it could mean his life, I definantly put him on either ace weak kicker, or whatever is drawing on the board. Now if he takes his time, well it would depend on the read, definantly think AJ is good there though.

i just like that line more because at that point there are more hands that beat you i think.....whats your plan if he raises? how often do you expect to be ahead here

I don't think you find players at NL200 who are smart enough to sense weakness in your holding often enough to punish you here, so it is a good value bet. However if you were playing against me and I was paying enough attention to the table I would turbo reraise you all in with absolute air, because you can't really call with 1 pair ok kicker can you

yeah but the thing is...would you be holding absoulte air by this point and floating me on both turn and flop with nothing. i think you would be gone on the flop 90% of the time and if not on the turn.
