Before I look at the results or kbar's reply.
Mistake #1:
You flopped the nuts. Since there's no flush draw out there, you need to raise pot sized.
On the turn, you need to make a pot sized bet as well.
The reason for these two moves is that you could possibly be making it way too cheap for a set fill up.
On the river, check it down, this is a bad card.
[edit]: Now that I've seen the results, smart check on the river. His mistake is not betting the river, in hopes of a check raise. This is a poor move.

Interesting hand and comments.
I have to say my first thought was "why did you play that hand?"
But I'm a total novice at this game, so maybe that would have been the wrong play
I guess I'm maybe too tight at this stage in my Omaha learning business - I tend just to try to stick to the very best starting hands.

Dave, this is a dream hand! A hand like 78TJ, if it hits the flop, is going to hit so hard and certainly give you wrap straight draws and such...

So Merv... and anyone else....
Would you suggest playing the 4/5 straight cards? eg, 7,8,10,J or 6,7,8,10 or 9,J,Q,K
I always thought these hands could lead to problems. Expensive draws, or over-straights etc. I don't know. I see what you are saying about getting all kinds of straight possibilities and so on, but I would have to say I would disregard this most of the time. I could be convinced otherwise - can you elaborate on this a bit?
Thanks.

I have found hands with many straight possibiities like this one are real money makers. They can also be big money losers. You want them to chase a flush or try to fill a set. It would have been much better if I had position. Merv was right in his assement, I have since learned you can't get cute with the nuts in this game. It's best just to blast away pot size bets and pray they don't hit.
