He could've played it a couple ways, but what counts is that he lost much less than most would, and that he made the right read at the right time.
Am I the only one that disagrees with this? He may have lost much less than I would have, but he still lost a lot of his stack. I'm trying to think about what Dan Harrington would say. I think he would vote to fold that hand pre-flop. However, if he was in the hand and the board hit him that well, I don't think he would recommend a fold. I'd make someone show me a hand when I had trip aces/T kicker and live with the results. *shrug* Maybe that's why I suck at this

I sincerely hope that the next hand I post that gets this much discussion will be an UBER BLUFF with J3o. Not too greedy; I just need to make someone lay down TPTK and I'll be positively giddy.
Well, either that, or a JTs re-reraise.

The thing that troubles me is why anyone would be concerned about 30 chips in blinds being stolen in level 2. Especially when hero wasn't even BB.
If anyone thinks that Scotty is stealing, then why hasnt anyone suggested a raise preflop? If he's stealing, he lays it down. If he calls, then you are in the same bad position as you are w/ calling, but you have more information.

Exactly. If you're going to play a fairly weak hand out of position and you think the steal is on, what good does just a call do you?

Now what do you think, after seeing what he had?
Well, obviously this:
And I think the laydown was pure genious at it's finest.
Haha, but seriously, I feel relieved to know I didnt donk off so many of my chips. It ended up working out(I didnt bust
But, even wasn't expertly played, I did like the chess match feel, and I really enjoyed playing in this hand and the whole tourney. The forum tourneys are much much more fun and much much more challenging than anything I play in. So it may or may not have been a +EV play for money...wait for it....but it was definetely +EV for fun.

I would have thrown this away in a normal tourney, but I felt like "playing poker" in this one.
