Question for any High Stakes Holdem players out there.

Hey guys,
I have a question for any High stakes players out there….
I started playing poker online about a year ago. I’m what you would call a low or micro NL player. I just don’t feel comfortable sitting at a cash game with more then $20 at a table. I think this is partly due to the fact that I know I earned that money through my previous play and don’t want to loose it.
Anyway, I watch some of the high stakes games at Stars, and the Prima Network 10/20 and above (its amazing) I wonder where all that money comes from? I mean, are these guys rich using there own money to play these stakes, or are they mostly online pros that started low and moved up to that level? The money has to come from somewhere right? I don’t think I’ll ever have the stomach to sit at those tables, but I would like to eventually play the $1 / 2 NL games. Thanks………..

I'd agree with your post if not for the word, OCCASIONAL. I really can't speak from anything but a Southern California perspective, but the high limit fish pool is more plentiful than you'd imagine. Trust fund babies abound...

A guy I kinda know at my school plays between $2/$4 and $10/$20 NL on Party. He and his twin brother started with a $50 roll two years ago and built it up. They put in a ton of hours though.

I think this has something to do with it.

It's hard to get your head around how much money is floating around out there. It's got to go somewhere and since poker is hot right now, that's as good a place as any.

It's fun to watch the high stakes games every once in a while. Fun, but could be bad. I watch and I see someone drag a pot that would pay my mortgage for the month. Then I start thinking "hmmm....I just have to play long enough to win one pot. And the mortgage is paid! Sweet!". The GF is not amused when I tell her this. BTW, what's bankroll management?
(yes, that's a joke)
