I need help understanding this!

I was reading on how to calculate hand odds and came across an example on this site:
You hold: Ac Js
Flop is: 5c Td Kd
Total Outs: Queen Gut Shot (4) + Ace Overcard (3) - Q or A Diamond (2) = 5
Percentage for Draw = 5 Outs * 4 = 20%
Odds = (100 / 20) - 1
= 5 - 1
= 4:1
I need to understand how they calculated the number of outs. I was figuring the out like this:
Queen Gut Shot (4) + Ace Overcard (3) + Jack Overcard (3) = 10
Why in this example are the Jack outs not included AND why are the Q or A of Diamonds excluded?? For the life of me I cannot figure out the answer to those questions. If someone could please explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated!!

The Jacks are discounted because the flop is King high. If your opponent has a pair of Kings already, how can you win by making a pair of Jacks?
The diamonds are excluded because there are two diamonds on the flop. If your opponent has two diamonds in the hole another diamond will give him a flush. If he has a flush and you have a pair you also lose.

Pot odds can be a daunting thing to understand, especially if you are not exactly a math wiz (neither am I). It gets easier with practice, once you grasp the basics.
Meanwhile, use a cheat sheet. MJ has made a table with the pot odds and what odds apply in different situations. You can download it and use it as wallpaper on your computer. Get it HERE
Just don't use it as an excuse not to get around to learning how to figure them out on your own.
