Playing the board

I guess I'll open up the NL section.
PokerStars Game #3119788036: Hold'em No Limit ($0.10/$0.25) - 2005/11/21 - 16:25:11 (ET)
Table 'Hugo' Seat #5 is the button
Seat 1: briwinsallin ($14.15 in chips)
Seat 2: Puglug36 ($23.30 in chips)
Seat 3: PoorManBilly ($28.50 in chips)
Seat 5: Lao_Ming ($9.20 in chips)
Seat 6: indoeeeee ($10.30 in chips)
indoeeeee: posts small blind $0.10
briwinsallin: posts big blind $0.25
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to PoorManBilly [Qh Qs] Kickass, QQ at a shorthanded table
SJR.Golfer joins the table at seat #4
Puglug36: folds
Lao_Ming said, "how the hell did that happen lol"
PoorManBilly: raises $0.50 to $0.75 I'll make a standard 3X BB raise. I see people, at these limits, raise 5X or more and that's too transparent for the initial raise at the shorthanded tables.
Lao_Ming: calls $0.75
indoeeeee: calls $0.65
briwinsallin: folds
*** FLOP *** [9s 5d 7c]
indoeeeee: checks
PoorManBilly: bets $2
Lao_Ming: folds
indoeeeee: calls $2 Don't like that call with the flop
*** TURN *** [9s 5d 7c] [8d] Really hate that turn
indoeeeee: checks
PoorManBilly: checks This may be pretty wussie, but I wanted to slow this down.
*** RIVER *** [9s 5d 7c 8d] [6h] Ugh
indoeeeee: bets $7.55 and is all-in Double Ugh, while I would really like to call, I can't. At these limits though, this is an awesome play if you have a T or TJ (obviously). People will pay you off almost every time. The point being, when you feel like someone is playing the board and you aren't, you can make a bigger than normal value bet (and sometimes crazy all-in bet) and expect to get paid off more often than you normally would.

I think this is a pretty good play on your part. TT is a REAL possibility. It would explain the cold call on the flop and the check on the turn when the str8 became very apparent. Since you were only going to get half the pot anyway, your only cost in being wrong by not calling was the money you bet previously and the $0.37 from the SB who completed. It's certainly not worth risking $7.55 for that.
