I had the dreaded disk crash this last weekend and lost everything I had on my main drive. Like a big doofus I had not been backing up like I should. The worst thing was I lost all my emails since August of last year. I also lost all my PT databases. One of the emails I lost contained my PT Omaha registration code. I still have my PT Hold-em code, although it doesn't work. I have sent an email with all my info hopefully that can be straightened out. I got PT Omaha through tightpoker with a promotion MJ was running with Titan, back in the glory days of Online poker. I am worried that they won't be so willing to help get that registration code back. We will see.
I have learned my lesson, as I have now built a raid 1 system for my OS drive and I have setup a redundant backup of my most important data going to an external USB drive. Man this sucks.
The good thing is it made me do I complete system rebuild which I really needed to do. My hard drive was really bloated with crap. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess.

I've had this happen before, it does suck... Pat at Pokertracker will give you another reg. code to get you're PT back going though, don't sweat it..

I don't see any reason why Pat won't give you another code. There was a stretch of time when I was last fighting with my computer through multiple reinstalls where I had to ask him for 3 new codes in about 2 days.

I think I am going to get a back up drive that connects directly to the network and can be accessed by all my computers. Something like this, probably something about twice this big would work.

NAS (network attached storage) units for consumers are really coming down in price and can be a good investment if you have several computers you want to keep backed up, or to share large files between them quickly and easily. If you google NAS you should be able to find some good articles with recommendations.
