(PART II) I hate when this happens
by fatlane » Thu Apr 20, 2006 5:02 pm
This hand shows how I donked my way out the tournament. Please read the follow up comments and let me know if this only happens to me. I have have done this more than once.
For disscusion on the proper strategy of a hand like this, please see my post titled: (part I) Playing Ax from BB as the short stack

Skaffa: shows [8d 9d] (a straight, Six to Ten)
Skaffa collected 4890 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
You saw what I did, but here is what I intended to do. Call, see the flop and be ready to fold if I don't get a favorable flop.
Instead I flat called a 1K flop bet with nothing (56% of my remaining chips), commiting me to the pot. Then when my shit-kicker came on the turn, I threw away the rest of my chips with no way of winning the pot.
My excuse is simple. I accidently hit the call button instead of the fold button.
I was riffling through my Poker Office database (Poker Stars was minimized). Just as I was about to click on something, it became my turn to act and the Poker Stars table came to the front, and my errant click landed on the call button.
Has this happened to anyone else. Or am I just a D**F**k?

yes it has happened to me and it's flipping annoying. I've actually been playing a hand with kk. Get some callers and the flop comes k rag rag. someone raised and I accidentally hit fold. It pissed me off so much. It turns out that I would have won a huge pot.

I don't know why you went all-in. He could be on a flush draw, straight draw, already have a straight, or have any pair and he's gonna call you.
EDIT: I just read that you accidentally called on the flop. I hate when that happens. I don't know what they could do to fix the problem though.

I hate to admit it, but it has happenned to me before as well.
I'm happy to see that it would have been a good push preflop.
Of course in this case, with this flop, you should be folding.
Was it a big tournament? I hope not.

I hate when that happens.
The worst was when i had AK and flop came AAK. This guy went all in and in my rush to call i hit the fold button. I can laugh about it now, but i had to buy a new keyboard after it happened.

I think it's happened to quite a few forum members (incl. myself). I remember someone actually mailing PP or PS and asking them to change the software so that it doesn't always get focus and sit on top of other windows.
I can also just laugh about the hand where I had AA and flop came A49 rainbow and accidentally folded to an all-in

I'm surprised PT didn't check your hh and ask you what you were thinking. That smells of collusion.
