office NFL pool

we run a season long pool where you pick all the week's winners and assign them a confidence #. So the game you think is a shoe-in you give it a 16. the game you hate you give it a 1. your team wins, you get the point amount.
currently i'm 3 or 4 overall but I need to catch the leaders.
anyone have opinions on this week's games?
Miami at Detroit Mia 10
Tampa Bay at Dallas Dal 15
Denver at Kansas City KC 4
Arizona at Minnesota Minn 9
Carolina at Washington Car 11
Cincinnati at Cleveland CIN 13
Houston at N.Y. Jets JETS 6
Jacksonville at Buffalo JACK 14
New Orleans at Atlanta NO 8
Pittsburgh at Baltimore Balt 5
San Francisco at St. Louis St. L 3
Oakland at San Diego SD 16
Chicago at New England PATS 1
N.Y. Giants at Tennessee TEN 2
Philadelphia at Indianapolis Indy 12
Green Bay at Seattle Sea 7

Do you lose those # of points if your pick loses? If not, I'd just put 16 next to all your picks.
I think your picks are pretty much right on, but I think the Giants will beat the Titans.

I guess my picks are ok but I'm wondering about the points. I was thinking of weighting the Jets higher than 6.
Oh, I see. If I were you, I'd reverse the Chicago outcome, we have killer momentum right now and are going to beat the Pats baby!!

I like alot of what you picked. But I would decrease the number for:
Cincinnati at Cleveland CIN 13 (If the wrong cinncy shows up then your screwed)
I would move up:
Philadelphia at Indianapolis Indy 12 (No way Indy loses this game)
Others:
N.Y. Giants at Tennessee TEN 2 (Giants looked bad but not THAT bad)
I like this pool, I would think that it would be best to pick the favorates (for the most part) and then look at which ones of the favorites have the best chance to get upset for the numbers.

merv,
I don't care if the Pats were playing the 85 Bears I'm not picking against them.
Plus, Belicheck comes up with stuff to confuse guys like Manning so Mr. Grossman is in for a looooong afternoon. His best bet is to just throw a bunch of jump balls and hope his guys can out wrestle the midget replacements we have in the secondary. That's how the Jets scored their winning TD... Seymour played like the best DL in football again last week. That was refreshing to see.

... I needn't remind you what happened when the 85 Bears played the Pats what happened, do I???
I have to support my team baby, come hell or highwater. But I do see that you picked that game as being a 1 though. It's a tough call.
Go Bears!!

Ever since the Tuck Rule we as Pats fans have been told we can't complain about bad calls. Well guess what, that was 5 years ago and for the last two years we've been getting hosed because Tony Dungy bitched and moaned about how Pats D-backs mug WR's.
Ever since his whine-fest during the rules commitee meeting it seems ref's have gone out of their way to flag the Pats for untimely PI's and holding calls. Last year's Denver playoff debocle was atrocious. One of the worst I've ever seen.
So against the Colts 3 weeks ago Manning throws an interception late in a close game. OH wait. flag on the play, illegal contact. So bad the announcers can't defend it. Colts score and Pats lose by a touchdown.
Now today. Earlier in the game a Bears defender doesn't look back, sticks his hand in the face of the reciever (SEE: FACE GUARDING) and...no call. On two HUGE plays later in the game the Pats are flagged for the PI where the d-back was running step for step with the reciever and the ball would not have been caught.
Seriously it's getting to be a joke. They need to revisit this crap because QB's shouldn't be rewarded for hucking up jump balls and having their recievers take a dive.
That's all Rex was doing and he finally paid for it by getting picked.
Pats are still the team to beat until proven otherwise.
end Rant.

The tuck rule is the stupidest thing ever. That was a fumble (vs the Raiders) if I have ever seen one.
Anyways, GG Pats. Unfortunately, I don't think the Bears can go all the way this year. There are too many mistakes being made by Grossman, but at the same time, I like the kid and I don't see any alternatives. Oh well, it's just a game.
