noble poker bonus clearing experience
by bram » Tue Feb 28, 2006 10:56 am
So I cleared the noble poker bonus the other day and my experience was on the whole, a good one, I mainly did it to get a free copy of pokertracker through tightpokers offer, here are the stats:
Amount deposited: $373
Bonus amount: $186.50
Amount withdrawn: $1563
Total Profit: $1190 + free poker tracker worth $50
I started on the NL50 tables built it up to 700, then one weekend I decided to finally read the Super System and it completely changed my strategy, made the extra 800 in the last week dominating the NL100 tables.
The bonus clears in 10 dollar segments, no complaints with the speed of clearing the bonus - it probably took me 70 hours or so playing 3 tables.
Plus I got a free copy of poker tracker, so i'd give this bonus a mighty 2 thumbs up, I only wish I had taken all my money out of party and put it in noble so I could have got the full $300 worth of bonus.
Sorry about the lack of concrete numbers for this review, I didn't have any way to record my progress, hence the need for poker tracker

Wow, the bonus really wasn't much compared to the winnings. Good for you, nicely done! What part of super system was it that helped you change your game?
Thanks for the review...I'm considering hunting at noble as well. I'm curious to know what you thought of the competition at the $50 and $100 buy-in NL tables vs. other sites.

thanks lads,
the parts that helped was making me realise the power of suited connectors and the idea of being the agressor, leading the betting, getting all your money in when you think your ahead.
Obviously you change your style to suit the table, if there is a maniac there you want to sit tight till you get a premium hand, but if there are a lot of weak tight players, raise from the button, bluff them off the pot, raise someone you think is trying to steal a pot, value bet if you think your ahead, expand your game in general. Knowing when to fold is also crucial. Get your lumps playing at a level that won't kill you, like NL25 then move up and take charge.
There aren't many players at noble but if your good you can take it down, if you are playing scared, you'll get taken down - just like everywhere else.
hope this helps

Thanks for the info bram. I am (always) working on improving my aggressiveness, and Doyle is good inspiration for that. I am ready to move up to NL100 but I think I'll work on my aggressive game at a lower buy-in, as you suggest, before I bring the A game to the bigger table.
