Need a PC guru (graphics cards)

This is aimed mainly towards graphic cards. I currently have a Geforce 2MX card iwith either 32 or 64MB (at work so can check when i get home) and I am looking to move up to a 128MB card. I did have a Geforece 4 Ti 128MB card but it fried, so i just bought the Geforce 2 for a quick fix at the time.
I am starting to get back into PC gaming and thats why I am looking for a new card. I have enjoyed the performance of the Nvdia cards, but am willing to try others.
My PC specs are:
Pent 4 1gHz +
512 DDR
Windows XP
8x AGP graphics card slot
Can anyone recommend a new card for me please? I am looking in the $100-150 range.
BTW anyone else plan on picking up Age of Empires III ?? I lvoed the first two and was pretty damn good and was suprised to see this new release on the shelf today!!

I don't know what games you plan on playing but you probably need a new processor. The new ones really chew on your CPU. I play a bit of Quake4 and Doom3 and with my AMD 3200+ with 2G RAM I get bogged down from time to time, but I am still using an older Ti 4200 video card. Haven't got around to upgrading that yet. I haven't been keeping up with video cards lately, but I have always had good luck with Nvidia and not so good luck with ATI. There are many that swear by them, so I think you are ok either way.
