Hurray for notes!
by jacedk » Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:43 pm
This is my first conscious use of notes.
I had noted that laidjvar in another game had check-raised a lot and, on several occations, shown down junk. He had also check-raised once in this session already, winning the hand without a showdown.

This story turns out to have a Part two.
I was very pleaseantly surprised to suddenly see this guy sit down at my table on Interpoker. And sure enough, there comes the Check-raise. Turns out he had a legitimate hand. But my read on him made me confident enough to push him to the max on the flop. Of course, had I not caught the nuts on the turn, I'd been long gone.

I'll be the first to admit that it was kind of a donkey move on my part. However, my previous observation told me, that this guy often check-raised the flop as a pure bluff. So when he did it to me, I figured it was well worth the chance to push him to the max on the flop. If I hadn't improved on the turn, I'd have folded.
