Gotta love (future) mother-in-laws...
by heids » Thu Dec 08, 2005 8:13 pm
I'm playing this qualifyer into a $650 WPT Event satellite. I just double up with KK against TT... and then the doorbell rings. I'm the only one home so I had to sit out a few hands while I answered the door. It was the future mother-in-law, who was looking for some extra Christmas lights. This was one of the four hands I missed...
Seat 1: oldschoolct ($1,539 in chips)
Seat 3: DoktorDoktor ($1,510 in chips)
Seat 5: BluePenguin ($2,425 in chips)
Seat 6: MGegs ($624 in chips)
Seat 7: D-Backer ($2,676 in chips)
Seat 8: slavicorphan ($2,291 in chips)
Seat 9: "Heids" [AD,AC] ($2,655 in chips)
Seat 10: fathead669 ($1,280 in chips)
ANTES/BLINDS
fathead669 posts blind ($15), oldschoolct posts blind ($30).
PRE-FLOP
DoktorDoktor folds, BluePenguin folds, MGegs bets $60, D-Backer calls $60, slavicorphan folds, "Heids" folds, fathead669 folds, oldschoolct calls $30.
FLOP [board cards 7D,4H,KH ]
oldschoolct checks, MGegs bets $100, D-Backer folds, oldschoolct folds.
SHOWDOWN
MGegs wins $295.
SUMMARY
Dealer: "Heids"
Pot: $295
oldschoolct, loses $60
DoktorDoktor, loses $0
BluePenguin, loses $0
MGegs, bets $160, collects $295, net $135
D-Backer, loses $60
slavicorphan, loses $0
"Heids", loses $0
fathead669, loses $15
Grrrr...
That could have been a life changing doorbell ring. I mean, if I get some action on that hand and build my stack some more, I may be the one who wins that ticket into the $650 WPT qualifyer. And then who knows, I could have gone on to place and won my way onto a WPT event and won a half million or more. I'm not even married to her daughter yet, and she's already out to get me!

Do what I did....marry a girl whose mother lives 1500 miles away!!!!!! Just wait until you have kids and you're the only one home. Your AA will come when the 2 month old is spitting up and the 3 year old is writing on the walls with crayon (sounds like this actually happened to somebody
).

Heids,
I think she knew you were going to be dealt AA and timed that doorbell ring perfectly. What other explanation is there?? 250-1 odds of being dealt AA and it happens right as she rings the doorbell??
Also, make sure you tell us when you're on TV so we can watch you take down those donkeys.

You seriously shouldn't be playing poker while watching the two of them. Maybe this belongs in the addicted to poker section. Someone should report you to DYFS.

The funny thing is this is the only time I get to play. That and Sat afternoon if my wife is sleeping when I get home from school. I work full time, go to school on the weekends, and my wife keeps me busy with repair projects. When she goes out on Monday night, this is the only time I have to play. So I fire up a SNG, Sesame Street for my oldest girl, and a bottle for the baby. It was a lot easier to do this before my youngest daughter was born. I wish addiction was my problem; I could get help for that. I'm just an overworked sap who misses playing poker.

I hear you, my second one is on the way. I finished my masters at night before my wife and I had kids. I don't know how you do it (work full time, go to school part time while having kids). I feel that I don't even have enough time to see my kid with a full time job.

OK, I decided I had to take a dump in the middle of an SNG. So what is the next hand after I decide to sit out. What else but KK.

Ouch. My toilet is one room from the PC. One advantage of having kids too little is the ability to waddle over to the computer between wipes to ensure that missing a big hand will never ever happen. When they get bigger, I will have to either be more discriminate on going before I start or turn the speakers way up so I can hear when the cards are being shuffled. Wow, KK. That hurts.
