I wasn't really sure what to think at this point - I was in my mind, tossing between AQ and AK due to a EP raise, but really wasn't sure. Should I be betting this turn no matter what, or check raising just to see where I am? Is it weak tight that I consider just check/calling this hand down to showdown?
One thing i've been working on lately is trusting my instincts - sometimes I just feel like I should let hands go, and sometimes I am very wishy washy and that tends to make me check-call, which was the feeling I got this hand. However, that same feeling has cost me certain big hands that I should've laid down but couldn't, so I'm still working on refining that.
Just curious what others would do in this situation

I would have done the same thing you did on the flop. I would have bet the turn though. I cant put my opponent on AQ, even though he did PFR, you cant be scared of AQ here. Do you think he would bet the nut straight on the flop? Most people go crazy when they flop the nuts, and they check the flop. Im thinking that I have the best hand here with Q9 and Im betting the turn. If he raises again on the turn then I might be scared of AQ but I'm still going to bump it yet again. This hand is way too strong to be playing it the way you did.
Go ahead get your bets in there, if he has AQ then oh well. Bet raise and bet some more.

There are other possible hands besides AK and AQ, I'm thinking. Doesn't AA, KK, JJ, and TT play this the same way? Maybe even KQ? KJ is probably a stretch, but you get the idea. I think your mistake here was narrowing his range too much.

Why not call preflop you are getting 5.5 to 1 odds to call. Granted the hand is a little weak, but I call this and see the flop and dump if I don't improve at all.

pot odds

I think you need bigger odds than that to be calling with Q9. Must be very long odds for hitting a straight. I'd be looking for implied odds of about 30:1 at a guess. But I cant do the Math
I'd probably call if it was suited.
I think i'm gonna start having to learn the maths more soon so I can work out exact pot odds on the fly.

Only 1 hand beats you? JAM JAM JAM JAM JAM !!!!
Cap flop, raise turn, 3 bet turn. If capped turn. Check call river.
What is his raise % - A typical tight player is about 9%.
So ! He raises 9% of his hands and only one beats you!?!? I usually passive players only 3 bet sets. And he is aggressive
So ...

Yeah, but Q's aren't exactly great cards for you. You're really looking for a 9 high rag board.
