If he makes his flush he'll give you all his money anyway.
If he has a flush draw he's calling a flop bet anyway, so you'll get money out of him even without him making a flush. Except when you give him free streets and he misses and check folds on the end. Then you get nothing.

Fine, but I'll give him the turn so he has a chance to pair one of his hole cards, which might make him show down or at least call for the river. You might get 2 bets out of him if you bet both streets and he misses a flush draw, that happens only when he's got two suited. The rest of the time when he DOESN'T have a flush draw, I can try to get at least one bet out of him. I'd rather take at least one bet most of the time than 2 bets only when he has a flush draw. If he makes a flush draw we get all his money all the time, so that doesn't matter.
Just depends on your read I suppose.
