Er... you got the fold preflop right. Raise flop 3x-ish and shut down if you don't win it there.

Fold preflop, even from the small blind, it's garbage. As played, raise flop, either take it down (maybe fold out a better hand than yours), or shutdown to a call. When you improve on the river, still imagine you are behind trip sevens and call a reasonable bet hoping you are good. Aim for cheap showdown whatever.
You're losing money like this because you are leaking cash preflop with loose calls, and are playing passively with marginal holdings post flop. You need to bet and raise for info, calling just leads to paying off better hands most of the time. J8o just isn't going to do well enough at showdown very often, so you have to be enforcing the action somewhat and hoping you can get a bit lucky or play somebody off a better hand.

How about this one, I decided not to c-bet because I was positive he'd call and I really had nothing. I think I should have raised the turn, I don't know what I was afraid of.
Now I'm pretty sure a 3bb raise from the BB unlimped with AQo is not too loose here ...

No you aren't too loose at all with this one, preflop is fine, but raise more. I c-bet the flop to try and take it down, it's not too drawy, and you may get a free card to your gutshot. Raising turn I don't like, you turn your hand into a bluff, and chances are you are getting called anyway. River, only a straight will call a raise that big, so you'll only ever chop. Raise smaller to where he has to look you up just in case.
