The fried turkeys are pretty popular here in Georgia as well. I personally prefer the baked, but deep fried ain't bad. Ever had a deep fried Oreo cookie?
I saw this at the fair this year. Didn't really have the desire to try one.

Upstate New York is generally kind of cold around Thanksgiving for cooking outside, yes? 2006 has had a rather warm fall so far, though.
