Well he's got T4s or A8. I usually raise in this situation to see what's what.
Assuming it's between SB and me without a reraise and without scare cards, I'd look to check/call down or bet if he checks. A c/r by SB makes me curse and drop.
Maybe you play against good players, though. I have a hard time giving donks credit for hands sometimes.
btw - I figure he doesn't have even AT or better as I'd look for a pfr. A flopped set prob wouldn't lead out here.

Any relevant reads on SB? PFR, %folded SB/BB to steal attempt, and AF would give you a better sense of his range. I don't see any reason to assume 2 pair here unless he's extremely passive (60/0/.4 type player). A weak Ax or Tx make sense here.
If no read, I just call and wait for the turn to raise him (if he's not ultra passive). Even if you are beaten by A8 or A9, you can split sometimes.

I would consider a raise with the cutoff opening for a call. That's always somewhat suspicious to me, so I'd be curious how he reacts to facing a full bet three handed. It also offers you the best chance of getting out of the middle.

I am always raising here to get the other two out and to take positonal advantage. If you get called by either CO or button, I possibly go into c/c mode. My PT stats say I am losing my most $ with top pair which means I am just probably hanging on too long.

I like raising the flop. This way you can hopefully isolate the initial raiser, and it also allow you to find out information about your hand more cheaply, rather than waiting until the turn to find out.
I was just playing some 1/2 Limit recently, and one of the things I'm starting to realize is that if you are thinking that you hand is good, it is so important to define it by a raise on the flop. Don't wait until the turn to find out he has 2 pair or something, cuz that is going to cost you a few extra bets.
