A thought if i may...

Anyone else notice that the ideal play at short handed limit is fast and aggressive. Both being almost equally important but it seems like playing fast is more imo.
I've tried slow (taking my time or a certain amount each hand) and aggressive and seem to get played back at way to often. However, playing fast and aggressive seems to put the other players on autopilot which causes them to make poor plays etc... even tilts some. When i say poor plays, its almost like they are playing on instinct and dont have enough time to rationalize their plays ... which in turn makes them more prone to -ev plays.
I've watched plenty of the high stakes games and they all seem to go by this style.
Thoughts?

I play fast unless I am last to act on the river or really put to a tough decision earlier. It is because I have thought about what I will do well in advance. I don't think this tilts people as a general rule, but I don't play much limit, so those crazies might act differently

I don't think it's that it tilts people, just that it causes one of two reactions to hesitate. People who are looking for a reason to call will be able to find a justification in your hesitation. If you're acting, it's to discourage a call! If you're not acting, it's because you don't think you'll win!
The over-aggressive 2+2 idiots we're probably talking about are looking for reasons to raise, and again they can find them. They'll often correctly assume that hesitation means you're considering a marginal situtation. They'll then often incorrectly decide that they can either bully you out with a raise, or raise their own marginal crap "for value."
