5/10...Overpair and Flush Draw
by LadyWrestler » Sat Nov 11, 2006 6:29 pm
Hi!
I am new at 5/10.
5/10 full table:
2nd hand. My only read is that Villain is playing on 3 tables. I doubt if Villain has any reads on me at all.
Villain is BB.
To me it is 6 folds and 1 limper.
D (Me) -
- raises to 10
SB - calls 7.50 to 10
BB (Villain) - calls 5 to 10
Original Limper - calls 5 to 10
Flop -
SB - checks
BB (Villain) - bets 5
Original Limper - folds
D (Me) - raises 5 to 10
SB - folds
BB (Villain) - reraises 5 to 15
D (Me) - caps
BB (Villain) - calls
Turn -
BB (Villain) - bets 10
D (Me) - calls 10
River -
BB (Villain) - bets 10
D (Me) - folds
How did I do?

I would have to disagree. You don't beat much but the few hands you do beat make the call worth while. There is $110 in the pot giving you good enough odds to call. He could have Ask, Asq, smaller pair. And a lot of those As/x type of hands. The pot tells you to call where as "common sense" says to fold. You will break even if you are right 1 of 11 times. If you are right 1 out of 10 it is profitable.
My 3 cents.

looks like a ram'n'jam with a monster draw to me. by capping the flop you commit yourself to calling him down I think. You might see KsQx or just the As more than you think in this spot.
don't know if I cap the flop to be honest. you could have smooth called the flop and raised him on the turn. that cuts down his draw odds on the turn, let's you represent the Jack and only costs 1.5 bb. If he 3 bets it then you let it go.
