Poker Book Reviews

Home > Poker Books

If you've gone to your local bookstore or library and looked in the poker section, then you'll probably have noticed that poker books have started popping up left and right. With the popularity of poker booming, many players have turned to poker books as a guide for improving their game. In this section, members of TightPoker have given their expert reviews of the various books that we've read, so that you can make a good choice on which books to get.

Even if you end up purchasing a book and not liking itmuch, you will always get something out of just every poker book that you read. Poker books are an investment when you think about it, because if it costs $25 out of your pocket to learn how to make even $10/hr rather than lose $5/hr at poker, you're already a winner. Have fun with the poker book reviews.

Though the reviews for the various books on this page will give you an idea of which ones you are interested in reading, many people have often asked me since I run the site, what is my favorite poker book? Well, the answer is a little difficult, since I've changed my style and strategies as I've developed, but my first book I ever read was Winning Low Limit Poker - which is a solid start for new players. After that, your path can vary greatly, depending on whether you are looking to become a cash game, tournament, limit or no-limit specialist. If you go limit games, Theory of Poker and Small Stakes Hold'em are great, while tournament players will love Harrington on Hold'em.
